What happens after my podcast has been removed or deleted?

Anchor takes action on accounts that violate our Terms of Service, which includes our Community Guidelines, in order to keep the platform safe.  If your podcast is removed for a Terms of Service violation, an email notification stating the reason for removal will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

If your podcast was removed, this also means that your account has been removed and you will not be able to log in. If this was done in error, we have the ability to reinstate your show on Anchor and to all platforms that it was distributed to. You can appeal the decision by contacting us here

Unfortunately, we can not reinstate podcasts that violate our Terms of Service. You are welcome to create a new account without the violating content. Please note that continuing to publish content that violates our policies will result in a platform ban. 

Once your podcast has been removed, it may take up to 10 business days to be taken down from the external listening platforms that it has been distributed to. 

Your podcast may have been removed for one of the following reasons: 

  1. Copyright Infringement

By using Anchor’s services, you’re acknowledging that you will only publish content that you either (i) created or (ii) have the proper permission to use.  

  1. Community Guidelines Violation

It is against our core values to promote content or opinions that may be harmful to others or may be breaking the law. This includes hateful, dangerous, violent or graphic and sexually explicit, content. We also do not tolerate harassment or bullying of any kind. 

  1. Spam or Sponsorships Fraud

We will remove accounts that are flagged for suspicious activity or misuse of our monetization services.
