Q&A Tool

On which devices is this tool available?

The Q&A feature can be configured through the Anchor mobile app and accessible to listeners through the Spotify mobile app only. You can still distribute episodes to other listening services, but the Q&A attached to the episode will not appear. 

Do I get notifications when responses come in?

You will receive up to 1 email notification if you receive responses that day. If you do not get any responses that day, you will not receive an email notification.

What’s the character limit for questions?

140 characters

What’s the character limit for listener responses?

200 characters (note that 1 emoji counts as 1 character)

Which markets is Q&A available in?

Creators in most* markets where Anchor and Spotify are available will be able to use this feature.

* This excludes Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

In which markets can listeners see my questions?

Listeners in most* markets where Spotify is available will be able to see and reply to your questions. 

* This excludes Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

How many replies can I pin?

You can pin up to three replies for each question. 

How many questions can I ask for each episode?

You can ask one question per episode. 

How many times can listeners reply to each question? 

Listeners can only submit one reply to each question. They can delete and resubmit their reply, but only up to 3 times.

Can I ask questions on my show page?

At the moment, questions can only be asked within an episode. 

How long will the question remain on the episode for? Can I pause responses at a certain point? 

The question will remain on the episode until you decide to delete it from the Anchor app. 

How do I edit a question I posted?

At the moment, you will need to delete the question and post a new one if you want to make any changes. 

Will the Q&A I create on Anchor show up on other platforms, like Apple Music?

No, the Q&A feature will only be available to listeners on Spotify. 

Can I incorporate links into my question? What about listeners for answers?

Links cannot be incorporated into Q&As at this time.

Can a listener still remove his/her answer if a reply has already been pinned?

Yes, they can. The pinned answer will disappear.

Can I create Q&As for older episodes too?

Yes, you can always go back to any existing episode and add a Q&A.

 

Polls Tool

Can I create a poll and Q&A for one episode?

Yes, this is possible! However, Polls can only be created using Anchor on web (the Anchor mobile app doesn't support Polls at this time). 

How do I know my poll is live?

You can head over to your episode in the Spotify mobile app and scroll below your episode description.

Which markets are Polls available in?

Creators in most* markets where Anchor and Spotify are available will be able to use this feature.

* This excludes Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

In which markets can listeners see my polls?

Listeners in most* markets where Spotify is available will be able to see and select options on your polls. 

* This excludes Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

How long does it take for my poll to publish on Spotify?

It should appear on your episode within 10 minutes!

How many options can I include in a poll? 

You can create anywhere between 2-7 options!

Can I edit a poll once it’s already live?

Yes, you can! However, you may want to be mindful of the responses you’ve already received.
