How do I insert ad segments for Automated ads?

Automated ads will play wherever your Anchor ad slots are placed. If you already have an active Anchor ad through Ambassador ads, up to one Automated ad will play immediately after that Anchor ad if you have an ad slot.

If you’d like to maximize your revenue, we recommend implementing three separate Anchor ad slots into your episodes.

How is revenue calculated from Automated ads?

Revenue is calculated for your previous month’s earnings and is paid to your Anchor Wallet no later than 30 days after the month has ended. This means for the month of September, you will get paid by the end of October for that month’s earnings.

You will receive an email from Anchor that notifies you about your earnings, including impressions sold and how your earnings have accumulated.

How do I get access to Automated ads?

We are still in beta for this feature, you can sign up for our waitlist here!

How do I opt-out of Automated ads?

To opt-out, you’ll need to click “Deactivate” under Automated ads in your Money tab. This will turn off automated ads in your existing episodes where there are ad slots. This may take up to 10 business days to reflect on external platforms.

Can I control which ads appear in my episodes?

We cannot provide control over the types of ads that are served in your podcast, but the ads that will play come from SPAN (Spotify Audience Network). All ads are approved by Spotify and qualify under Spotify’s Ad Guidelines.

You can find examples of what these ads sound like by listening to a Spotify Original podcast, like Science Vs.

Can I still use other Monetization features on Anchor?

Yes! You can continue to use our other tools, like Subscriptions or Ambassador Ads (formerly Sponsorships).

I create Music+Talk episodes. Am I eligible for Automated ads?

Not at this time, but we hope to expand access for all creators in the near future.
